Georges Bataille
A sort of renegade Surrealist, sympathetic with Breton's group to a certain extent but mainly a rival to it. Established a kind of breakaway surrealist branch, more nihilistic perhaps than Breton's group (which had one eye on dialectical resolution of differences, a new, higher rationalism of surrealism).
